artist #9: Madlib

If don't know him, no offense, but you're a fucking ignorant mainstream hip hop head. This dude is a fucking genius. He holds different aliases such as Quasimoto, Yesterday's New Quintet, Beatkonducta, and he's had other collab alias such as jaylib (Dilla and Lib) and Madvillan (Doom and Lib). He's one of the most influential hiphop producer at the present, working with Blue Note Records for his album Shades of Blue. I can't find actual proof, but the word is that for the albums Unseen and The Further Adventures Of Lord Quas, he locked himself in the studio for a week with a bag of shrooms and produced music. He's boss innovative ideas for constant new music is amazing.

artist #8: The Left

This should have been published three weeks ago but here it goes...
Straight out of the Detroit scene, they bring the hottest rhymes and beats. Journalist 103 and Apollo Brown's (who also recently released his instrumental works Clouds) combination is vital to their success. Journalist's fat rhymes over Apollo's think beatz forces you to nod head. I don't know if Gas Mask was their first collab album or not, but it was boss as fuck. Tracks like Chockhold (feat. Paradime), Melody, and Reporting Live (feat. Guilty Simpsons) hits you harder than a bong rip.

These Detroit niggas are way underrated.

artist #7: Rhythmatical

Today I introduce, Rhythmatical, a producer from San Jose (408!), he delivers boss jazzy beats. I love his style because his music is upbeat but also mellow at the same time. His 19 track album "Melodic Deliverance" is free for download on the link below. He also has a series of video called "illoxmatical" where he and his buddy produces continuous beats from two minutes to five. Check him out.

Most of his beats are produced for other rappers. He has an album, which I think is called "Second Guess," with another musician called Mosaek. (Which I want a copy of cuz his beats are ill as fuck)

artist #6: Stalley

Featured on a full song on Ski Beatz's 24H Karate School, Stalley has been uprising little by little. He has worked with many of the Southern Rappers like Big K.R.I.T and Curren$y and has couple of CreativeControl videos. He also has a boss 6-inch beard which is a prominent characteristic of him. He recently released his album, Lincoln Way Nights, which could be downloaded for free on the link underneath. He has a really unique sense of music and so it takes time to adjust, but his lyrics are powerful. BOSS.

Couple of months ago, Edison became known through the video of him playing Tonka Truck. (Click here to see the video) The beauty of his music is that he makes his beats with no loops. no loops. incredible.

artist #5: Himuki

I found Himuki through a friend a while back. I apologize for the lack of information on him, but similar to Insight, I can hardly find any information on him. All I know is that he is Japanese and makes boss beats. He has a very similar style to Nujabes and samples classical and jazz. According to his website, his latest album was released in 2009.

Anyways; good luck finding his album on the interweb, because even I couldn't find it.
Why don't you just fly to Japan to get a copy?

artist #4: Kendrick Lamar

I found Kendrick Lamar through a track that was in Skeme's album. He has a very unique style of rapping in which his verses sounds like a full jazz solo; he changes his pitch sometimes when he feels emotional, and I think its really boss how he does that. The song "Ignorance is Bliss" hammers my heart everytime I listen to it - it exposes the drama that he experienced before his rap career, and which the strings in the background. He also has many boss tracks from his other album "Top Dawg." Dr.Dre has signed with Lamar and will hopefully Lamar will be featured in Detox. Here's a promo that Lamar did: "Look Out For Detox" All I'm saying is that Lamar has talent and I hope he becomes the new face of west coast. He's also done work with his previous name, K. Dot, which you should check out.

group #1: Y Society

Y Society is a group consisting of producer, Damu the Fudgemunk, and rapper, Insight. They have a hard and fast rap style with traditional jazz and soul in the background. Their flow is similar to Hieroglyphics except with only one emcee. I'm not very big on rating and reviewing on albums, but "Travel at Your Own Pace" was a really catchy and boss album. Damu heavily relies on his ghetto MPC and floppy disks to sample and save info. Personally, I come from jazz roots, so I enjoy listening to jazzy samples. He had two instrumental albums that he released for free on the interweb a while back, if you want to dig for it. I would great if I could research more on Insight, but he's sort of a mysterious emcee that I can't find any background info on. I'd be boss if I could listen to his mixtape or something.
So I highly recommend listening to Damu and Y Society cuz they're straight up BOSS.

artist #3: Moka Only

I found Moka Only through a music video with Jeff Specs on "Fly B.S." I've already listened to ten of his tunes, and they are ALL boss. If you watch this video, you'll see he produces his own songs. He's not a very good rapper, but the songs he produces are Boss. He's part of the Vancouver Hip-Hop scene and is originally from Britain. He also does work by the name of Ron Contour. He has won a Juno Award, which is a Canadian music award, in the past. He is probably the most underrated artist of the Vancouver hip-hop scene.

Some of his most BOSS tracks he has out are: "Raise the Bar", "More Soup (feat. MF DOOM)," "Felt Before," "Radiant," and the bossest track of all "Invisible."

artist #2: Skeme

He has a lot of gangsta tracks, but the ones that aren't extremely gangsta are really boss. Three producers which he works with created great tracks on his album "Pistols and Palm Trees."

His flow is similar to Kanye, but doesn't really have that arrogance. Its boss dough.

The BOSS tracks are: Pistols & Palm Trees (prod. by Chris King), What I Deserve (prod. by hit-boy), and Never Change (prod. DJ Buttah)

This guy will be the rising star. He'll be doing tracks with Wiz Kali and curren$y in a few months fo sho. Boss.

Big Krit has a classy flow and swag like Curren$y.
He produces his own music and its not bad. Doesn't match Ski Beatz, but better than a lot of the underground producers.
